I think you need to go for it…but please realize it does take A LOT of work to not only plan and launch a new business, but what happens when you start getting business? I started an regional online entertainment/dining/nightlife guide and I quit my job for a about 18 months to get it going. I don’t regret it and it would not have grown if I tried to both work full-time and grow my business. Because, even though you’re a great multi-tasker, you can’t simply do everything. Or, should I say, you can’t do everything WELL. I now have a full-time job again and still maintain my web site. However, I am looking for someone to take over some duties because I’m swamped! If you really have a great business idea and after your research and planning, it still seems great, you may need to quit your job. Follow your heart in the decision; you can always get another job. No one will ever think negatively of you for attempting entrepreneurship.

I’ve recently taken a third job and its great. My first job is a primary, stable one. The third is consulting work, which allows me to work from home or a cafe, on weekends and evenings. I really enjoy working whenever I want. One word of caution, just because you’ve sent an invoice or paperwork doesn’t mean who you’re working for will get everything to you when you expect. I’ve had to send gentle reminders more often than I thought would be necessary.

Hi,
I have launched a start-up project 6 months ago while I was still working in my advertizing agency. Quickly, things getted hard to manage because the time required for the start up development just increase constantly and the interest for my previous job decreased.
So three month ago, I left my former job and began to work full time for my start-up.
I don’t regret this choice, start-up a business is a fascinating experience.

I run my own side ad agency while working at one during the day. However, my side business focuses on the gaming industry, which I find very interesting and while I love plating video games.

Don’t take a job simple for the money. Make sure you are turning a profit for each job. Also make sure you get paid a retainer.. some people may try to take advantage of you since they are older. Lastly, just don’t be afraid to take risk and have fun, which it seems you are already doing.
