Words to Know: BRIC

BRIC countriesHere’s a good word to know: BRIC. It is an acronym for Brazil, Russia, India, China. These are the economies that are on pace to be the strongest in the world by 2050. That’s right, they are expected to usurp the current economic powerhouses (like the USA) by the year 2050. For businesses and young entrepreneurs, these are the countries to watch because they will have the most buying power and will start to play the role in the global economy that the US plays now. This is all a theory originally put forth by Goldman Sachs in 2003.

Ah yes, this is good info to get out there. Something to watch, for sure. Also, they are good, yet volatile investing opportunities - search the Claymore BRIC ETF on yahoo or google finance.

While they are looking promising, they are also very speculative. As nations grow they encounter massive swings in both policy and stability.
