Hostelworld is fantastic for finding cheap accommodations - including B&B's and rented apartments. My rule of thumb is to choose a place with at least 80% or higher ratings. Also, for flights try using <a href="http://yapta.com/" rel="nofollow">yapta.com</a> to track a specific flight. It will notify you if the flight you are interested in or have purchased reduces in price. Last year when I went to Europe it saved me over $200! Good resources for the budget traveler.
