Predilection

Here’s a good word to know: predilection. This is a great one to use if you want to accuse someone of something. Technically, it means “a predisposition in favor of something”. So right at the climax of an argument you can break it out. Say, “you only think that because you have a predilection for <insert the thing that person has a predisposition for>”. Hopefully your verbal assault will stun them, thereby weakening their ability to retort effectively.

Examples:

“a predilection for expensive cars” - google’s define function

“Conservatives (except for New Gingrich) want to ignore global warming because they have a predilection for ignoring science and calling anything they don’t like a hoax.” - me
